PDC LESSON 3.32 START A NURSERY – LANDPREPARATION AND COMPOST




So just start. EVERY JOURNEY BEGINS WITH THE FIRST STEPS.

First, look at what you have there. What's under the grass. What kind of earth and how can you use it? A handcart full of good potting soil costs 300 KSH and may not even be half a cubic meter.

So first remove the turf and take the good soil underneath with you and create a compost. Organic farming, and whatever you do there later, doesn't start with planting, but with fertilizing or improving your soil. The effort to create compost is always worth it, because your properly created compost will later become twice as much as the soil you purchased in 8 months.

 

AGRO-ECONOMY TIP: Your worker costs 500 KSH in 6 hours, he moves a good two cubic meters of soil and approx. 60 m² of turf onto the compost. Later a layer of animal dung is added on top. In 8 months, the m² of compost costs over 1000 KSH. Above all, with untouched soil you have clean soil without pesticides and other dirt.

So, it is then pure organic compost fertilizer. So, we have a length of 100 m, which in the end gives us 100 m² of compost.

 

As you can see, we first work on the left half and put it towards the back. Then a 5 cm thick layer of animal dung is placed over it, and the second half of grass is placed over it, and everything is covered with 5 cm of soil.

Kwa hiyo kwanza ondoa turf na kuchukua udongo mzuri chini na wewe na kuunda mbolea. Kilimo hai, na chochote utakachofanya hapo baadaye, hakianzii na kupanda, bali kwa kurutubisha au kuboresha udongo wako. Jitihada za kutengeneza mboji ni za thamani kila wakati, kwa sababu mboji yako iliyotengenezwa ipasavyo baadaye itakuwa mara mbili ya udongo ulionunua ndani ya miezi 8.

DOKEZO LA KILIMO-UCHUMI: Mfanyakazi wako anagharimu KSH 500 kwa saa 6, anasogeza udongo mzuri wa mita za ujazo mbili na takriban. 60 m² ya turf kwenye mboji. Baadaye safu ya kinyesi cha wanyama huongezwa juu. Katika miezi 8, mraba wa mboji unagharimu zaidi ya KSH 1000. Zaidi ya yote, kwa udongo usio na udongo una udongo safi bila dawa na uchafu mwingine.

Kwa hivyo, basi ni mbolea safi ya kikaboni. Kwa hivyo, tuna urefu wa m 100, ambayo mwishowe inatupa 100 m² ya mbolea.
