1 PDC LESSON - 3.58 - STARTING A GARDEN + NURSERY – KALE & MARIGOLD

We planted a lot of marigolds (Tagetes) between the kale plants. This is not only pretty, but also very important in organic gardening. Marigold is a natural killer of the white butterflies that go to the cabbage.
You can eat the flowers and also use them as a base for soap. Marigold as a plant is very easy to grow in the warm Kenyan climate. Simply put the seeds in good potting soil and keep them moist, then transplant the plants into small pots and grow roots and then transplant them into the garden when they are 25 cm tall. The better the soil and water, the bigger the bush and the more flowers.
When they dry out, you can get new seeds. The greenery is then left on the bed as mulch. It acts like an antitoxin in the soil.

Tulipanda marigold nyingi (Tagetes) kati ya mimea ya kale. Hii sio tu nzuri, lakini pia ni muhimu sana katika bustani ya kikaboni. Marigold ni muuaji wa asili wa vipepeo nyeupe ambao huenda kwenye kabichi.
Unaweza kula maua na pia kutumia kama msingi wa sabuni. Marigold kama mmea ni rahisi sana kukua katika hali ya hewa ya joto ya Kenya. Weka tu mbegu kwenye udongo mzuri wa chungu na zihifadhi unyevu, kisha pandikiza mimea kwenye vyungu vidogo na kuotesha mizizi kisha kuipandikiza kwenye bustani ikiwa na urefu wa sentimita 25. Udongo bora na maji, kichaka kikubwa na maua zaidi.
Wakati zinakauka, unaweza kupata mbegu mpya. Kisha kijani kibichi huachwa kitandani kama matandazo. Inafanya kama antitoxin kwenye udongo.

There is no growing soil like we have here. But LILIAN in the neighbouring nursery manages with shade and mulch that almost all of my seeds come up from Spain. It's amazing how she does it. Only the marigold seeds worry us and don't come. I do not know why that is. It is always important to find someone who knows the earth and the climate here. Some seeds don't need such humus-rich soil to start, some like the avocado seeds just need enough water and then need 2 months until they have grown roots in order to plant them in soil. Her place is next to the old lady with her flower nursery, who gave her permission to do it there, but she does not have any paper. I have now received an official letter and a permit as well as a water connection. So, she now has the right to run her small nursery there, and we have our own water connection with a meter.   What's coming is Alium Giganteum, I brought the seeds with me from Andalusia, they all came straight away. It is a great medicinal plant with unrivalled antitoxic properties, works against diabetes, Alzheimer's and malaria, and also against impure skin. I came across it by chance and googled it.
