If you start a garden on the side of the road, on this hard, bad soil, then you have to try to buy soil, sift it and also pile up the existing turf as compost, and bring in more greenery, collect leaves from the avenue trees, and find cut grass and mix everything.
It costs and takes a year for it to rot, but it is the only way to build a garden.
But that is it, turning bad soil into a garden using the risen bed technique, that is permaculture.
Growing peppers from seeds on the balcony and growing them into plants is the cheapest way to set up a garden and start with little cost and a lot of time.
But if you sow every day and then rework and replant 10 m² every day, you will have some kind of yield in your garden for 5 to 6 months. With 250 working days a year, that's 2500 m², more than an acre.

Ukianzisha bustani kando ya barabara kwenye udongo huu mgumu na mbaya, basi itabidi ujaribu kununua udongo, kuupepeta na pia kurundika udongo uliopo kama mboji, na kuleta kijani kibichi zaidi, kukusanya majani kutoka kwenye udongo. miti ya avenue, na utafute nyasi zilizokatwa na uchanganye kila kitu.
Inagharimu na inachukua mwaka kwa kuoza, lakini ndio njia pekee ya kujenga bustani.
Lakini ndivyo ilivyo, kugeuza udongo mbaya kuwa bustani kwa kutumia mbinu ya kitanda iliyoinuliwa, hiyo ni permaculture.
Kupanda pilipili kutoka kwa mbegu kwenye balcony na kukua ndani ya mimea ni njia ya bei nafuu ya kuanzisha bustani na kuanza kwa gharama ndogo na muda mwingi.
Lakini ukipanda kila siku na kisha ukapanda upya na kupanda tena 10 m² kila siku, utakuwa na aina fulani ya mavuno kwenye bustani yako kwa muda wa miezi 5 hadi 6. Kwa siku 250 za kazi kwa mwaka, hiyo ni 2500 m², zaidi ya ekari.

There is no growing soil like we have here. But LILIAN in the neighbouring nursery manages with shade and mulch that almost all of my seeds come up from Spain. It's amazing how she does it. Only the marigold seeds worry us and don't come. I do not know why that is. It is always important to find someone who knows the earth and the climate here. Some seeds don't need such humus-rich soil to start, some like the avocado seeds just need enough water and then need 2 months until they have grown roots in order to plant them in soil. Her place is next to the old lady with her flower nursery, who gave her permission to do it there, but she does not have any paper. I have now received an official letter and a permit as well as a water connection. So, she now has the right to run her small nursery there, and we have our own water connection with a meter.   What's coming is Alium Giganteum, I brought the seeds with me from Andalusia, they all came straight away. It is a great medicinal plant with unrivalled antitoxic properties, works against diabetes, Alzheimer's and malaria, and also against impure skin. I came across it by chance and googled it.
